21 Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, 22 who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee. ---2 Cor 1:21-22 (NKJV)
God works in 4 ways through His Spirit:
- 1. Establishes – He compels and helps us grow strong and firm in Christ
- 2. Anoints – He covers, empowers, commissions and set us apart for service
- 3. Seals - He marks and keeps us secure for eternity (Eph 4:30)
- 4.Gives the Holy Spirit as a guarantee - He keeps His promises to those who trust Him and His Word - eternal life in His eternal kingdom
Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. ---Php 1:6
1. YOU
- beloved, unique, special and precious child of God through Jesus
- bought and redeemed by the blood of Jesus
- called and set apart for God’s purposes
- commanded and commissioned to witness and evangelise the lost
- ordained and empowered to do His will and bidding
You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. ---Romans 8:9
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. ---Romans 8:14
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. ---Romans 8:16

But you have an anointing from the Holy One, and all of you know the truth. ---1 John 2: 20
As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him. ---1 John 2: 27

- to live the Christ-pleasing life for God’s glory and honor
18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, 19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” ---Luke 4:18-19 (cf. Isa. 61:1-2)
Today, you have the Holy Spirit’s power and anointing to:
- Love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength
- Love your neighbour as yourself
- Love and forgive your enemies
- Discern what is right and wrong, godly and demonic, real and counterfeit, true and false – doctrines and ministers of God
- Learn all things from Him
- Stay connected with God
- Maintain your devotional time with Him
- Witness for Christ and evangelise the lost
- Fulfil God’s will and purposes
- Resist evil and temptation
- Speak and live out the truth
- Do exploits and good works
- Remain sure, strong, solid, steady and steadfast in Christ to the end
This anointing that changed Peter from being fearful to fearless; faithless to faithful; cowardly to courageous; denier to defender of Christ; loser to winner - is on us.
What must you do?
Rise up as the anointed child of God - chosen, consecrated and commissioned - to do His will and accomplish His purposes in these last days.
The Holy Spirit will empower, help, lead, guide and direct your path as you yield yourself to Him.
